Party Poker Review
Software: Party Poker's graphics and sound quality are above average. The software is very fast with no lag whatsoever and is very easy to use. However, I did find some delays loading the lobby screens and tournament statistics. Included with the software is a great feature called the Poker Trainer. The Poker Trainer is a tool designed to help new players become familiar with the rules of the game by incorporating a hand advisor. The Poker Trainer incorporates sophisticated Artificial Intelligence that proved to be quite challenging competition. The trainer will advise on whether to fold, raise, bet, etc.... It will also let users replay their prior hand to help better understand what they did right or wrong. Party Poker's software has numerous options including: four simultaneous tables per player is allowed, personal playing statistics, player notes, instant hand histories and side bets. Game Selection: Party Poker offers games such as Texas Holdem, Omaha hi-lo, Omaha, 7-stud, 7-stud hi-lo, single and multi-table fixed-limit holdem, NL/PL holdem, fixed Omaha hi-lo, PL Omaha hi-lo, fixed 7-stud (single-table only). They also have sit-n-go multi-table tournaments. Table Limits: Ring Games: - Fixed Limit: $.15-$.30, $.25-$.50, $.50-1, $1-2,$2-4,$3-6, $5-10, $10-20, $15-30, $30-60, $50-$100, $100-$200
- Pot Limit/No Limit blinds: $.02-$.04, $.05-$.10, $.10-.25, $.25-.50, $.50-1, $1-2, $2-4, $3-$6, $5-$10, and $10-$20
Tournament buy-ins - Single: $5, $10, $20, $30, $50, $100, $200, $500, $1000, $5000
- Multi-table: $1 up to $1,000
Player Traffic: Party Poker is the most popular online poker site in the world. However, since mid October (2006) Party Poker has lost a large share of its position as the world's largest online poker site due to the new US gambling legislation. During peak hours there are about 8000 ring players and about 50,000 tournament players online. Competition: The competition is somewhat soft at Party Poker. Since there are tens of thousands of players at this site, many are beginners or casual players (of course there are some that are seasoned professionals). Party Poker tends to be the entry point into online poker for many people. Bonuses and Promotions: Party Poker offers some great bonuses and promotions such as: - $5 K Freeroll for all new players
- Monthly $1 million and $500,000 guaranteed jackpots
- Party Poker Monster: The Monster Final will have at least a $5 million prize pool (it will probably be in the neighborhood of $20 million dollars)
- Bad Beat Jackpot
- The Step Challenge, which lets players enter tournament play one level at a time
- New member bonus and referral bonuses
- Numerous others...
Loyalty Program: Party Poker offers a program called 'Players Club'. Players Club points (PartyPoints) are earned every time you play real money games at Party Poker. Points can be redeemed for freerolls or a wide assortment of merchandise. Rake: The rake at Party Poker isn't great for low limit players whereas is is good for higher limit players. The rake can be as high as 10% (low limit games) whereas it is much more favorable as the limits go up. The same principle holds true for tournament buy-ins. Deposit and Withdrawal: Party Poker offers numerous deposit and withdrawal options including: - Deposit: VISA, Master Card, NETeller, FirePay, Western Union, eChecks (by iGM-Pay)bank draft, cashier's check, money order, check
- Withdrawal: NETeller, wire transfer, check, eChecks (by iGM-Pay)
Cashout speed: My NETeller cashouts took 24 hours. I have heard of people in good standing with Party Poker receiving their cashouts within 6 hours. Wire transfers took 48 hours. Support: Party Poker has both email and phone (toll-free) support. Email support has been hit or miss ... I have received responses within a couple of hours whereas other times I have received no response whatsoever. They are available twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week, 365 days per year. The staff was very knowledgeable. Download Party Poker Software Play Now!
